As we age, the lower portion of the face loses volume. Lines develop that lead from the nose to the mouth that we call nasolabial folds. The chin area can get some very disturbing extra furrows and the jowls drift down. The way to rejuvenate these areas is with “fillers”. A filler is a substance that is injected into the skin to plump up these lines and furrows. The classic is collagen. Now we have Restylane, Juvederm, and Perlane. We have chosen to offer these because they are easy to use, give consistent results and do not break the bank. During your visit we will go over the possibilities with you and together choose either a combination or a singe filler to use.
The lips are another area that can be very nicely enhanced with fillers. Many women who would never consider really plumping up their lips find that just a little filler put in the body or at the border of the upper and lower lips gives a very natural look that softens the whole lower face. But if what you want is big, beautiful lips, we can do that too! This is considered an “off label” use for the fillers, so we can’t discuss it here, but we will discuss the risks and benefits with you and give you more information at your appointment.
